Jeffrey Bernstein founded Bencon Strategies, Inc. to provide management consulting services to organizations seeking creative, cost-effective solutions to their employee and executive pay and benefit challenges. The focus of his expertise is to provide his clients with an economic return on their human resource investment by aligning their compensation and benefit programs with business objectives and economics. He specializes in management, small group and team incentives, executive compensation and stock ownership plans and employee and executive benefit programs.
Mr. Bernstein is also currently a Senior Vice President at Human Resources Spectrum, Inc. and has over twenty years of experience with compensation and benefits issues in a variety of industries.
As Vice President, Compensation and Benefits for Automatic Data Processing, Inc., he spent over 10 years on maximizing the value of the compensation and benefits programs in this high growth, leading edge, information services company. He specialized in total compensation planning, linking pay to strategic business unit results and executive, sales and incentive compensation issues.
He also specialized in senior executive compensation programs, health care cost containment initiatives, pension and retiree capital accumulation plans and the human resource issues surrounding merger and acquisition activity.
In an earlier role, he was a principal with Hay Associates, a leading management consulting firm. His clients consisted of firms such as GE, AMAX and Amerada Hess and he consulted with them in the areas of market pricing, compensation and Benefits at Tetley Inc., providing senior management with solutions to program design and implementation on a wide range of compensation and benefits issues.
Prior to that, he held compensation and benefits positions at Lever Brothers and Westvaco Corporation.
Mr. Bernstein has chaired a variety of internal corporate executive benefit and compensation committees, is a member of the American Compensation Association and the Society For Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is a member of the compensation committee of the SHRM New York region. His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree from Long Island University.
